Don’t live day to day…

So it's almost time for the deadline of taxes

So how did you do last year?

I would say financially, I am just OK.

I want to be a lot better. So I am going to have to be a lot more frugal.

Simply because, I have no one to depend on except for myself.

Sadly, my parents are financially worse than 10 years ago.

So I never rely on them because they worked hard to bring me up so I know they have done all they could.

And I never borrow $ from SUPRAMAN because I think that at this time and age, women have so many more opportunities than before and we should definitely be able to support ourselves.

Since all the $ blogs are listing ways of how to save $, here are my ways:

1. Cook as often as you can and save things to eat for the next day. This saves so much $. It's ridiculous how much $ is spent on eating out. I can cook $20 worth of food over 1.5 weeks.

2. Pack your lunch. I bring lunch to work 5 days of the week and 1 day I get to get fast food.

3. Work as much as possible. Even though the economy sucks, there are still ways that you can get a 2nd job.

4. Don't buy books, DVDs, music, or magazines. Go to the library or even go online and put stuff on a reserve list. They will call you when it's ready. You do know that you are paying for the library, don't you? If you must buy magazines, get a subscription. It saves you lots of money in the end.

5. Stay away from places that make you spend money. (eg. Target, Blockbuster, the mall)

6. Don't believe in instant gratification. You don't need things. If you wait awhile, you'll realize you really don't need it. This is hardest for me. I've learned not to buy everything that's PINK. So if I can do it, everyone else can do it.

7. Have a weekly allowance for yourself and take it out in cash. If there's no more cash, then you can't buy anything else. Easy as that. Even a first grader knows that.

8. Buy store brand items. (ie. Kroger brands, Target brands). They all taste and work the same and they're always the cheapest.

9. Have a savings, emergency fund, retirement fund, nest egg, etc. At least have one of these. I promise that you'll feel much more financially secured.

10. Last but not least, create your short term and long term financial goals and stick it in your wallet. That way you'll see it every time you open your wallet.

So these are my top ten. I have so much more but I'll just keep it at that.

Anyways, I see firsthand how people in my life live from day to day w/o thinking about the future. Having more expenses than income and no savings and thinking that's it ok.

Smiley-big-thinking Hmmm…

If you do the math, it probably equals negative something.

Toodles! Bye
